MIO Band Sessions Led by Eleanor Rastall and James Taylor

The MIO Band Session had such positive feedback last term the class is back for round two! If you missed out last term, now is your chance to join in all the fun.

Experience being in a band for an evening! Under the guidance of MIO teachers James Taylor and Eleanor Rastall you will explore a range of contemporary style, collaborating in a mixed group of voices and different instruments.

Music choices for Wednesday 11th July: Frankie Valli’s classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You,”, Leonard Cohen’s epic “Hallelujah” and Harold Arlen’s timeless “Over the Rainbow” (ever heard the Hawaiian version?). Once you sign up for the class the sheet music will be emailed to you.

All instruments and experience levels are welcome.

MIO Summer Pupils’ Concert

Our end of term tuition concert will be taking place this term at the CAA . We look forward to inviting you and your family and friends to the come and hear what our tuition pupils have been learning throughout the term.

Our end of term concert hosted at the beautiful St. Botolph without Bishopsgate EC2M 3TL. With a drinks reception, workshop and collaborative performance we look forward to a fantastic end to a successful term.

The Science of Music and Mood with Joe Stilgoe

Ever wondered what makes a happy tune happy and a sad song sad? Or how the human brain is affected by changes in tempo, key and intervals? Featuring an improv performance by singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe followed by an in-depth discussion, The Science of Music and Mood presents the perfect opportunity to explore what science can reveal about the mood of music.
