MIO provides highly qualified teachers of a wide variety of instruments who provide tuition geared specifically to the needs of the corporate musician. 35 minute lessons provide an oasis of calm in a busy day and eradicate travel time to and from lessons. This is one of our most popular music programmes and is currently in place in Norton Rose LLP where our waiting lists are ever-increasing.

Vocal Workshops

The ability to use the voice well is a vital tool in communication. The freedom to express ideas in a dynamic way will mark somebody out as a highly professional and distinctive individual. We offer a variety of different voice-based workshops all with an underlying aim to make people aware of the range of the voice; to get comfortable with using the only instrument which truly mirrors the personality, yet which can be developed to reflect the person whom they aim to be.

Public-speaking workshops: Speaking in public is a common fear in the corporate world. In today’s climate, it is worth taking the time to overcome this and make use of the most fantastic tool available to us all. We provide top vocal coaches to increase confidence and unlock the voice.

Singing workshops: Making music together is the ultimate team-building experience. Everyone has a voice and, in these sessions, individual effort will reward the whole team.  These workshops are a fun and non-threatening way to explore your voice and include enjoyable vocal games to find expressive qualities, improvisation games and culminate in a group singing session.

Orchestral Conducting Project

The correlation between the skills needed to work successfully as either a leader or a member of a team in the corporate world are mirrored closely in the world of the orchestra, and in particular in the skills needed as a conductor. With a large body of different people coming together to work together, the conductor has to unite all of these people into one common purpose and focus, to enable them to give their best performance.

Our short courses in conducting address the components of the conductor's psychology and skills which enable them to achieve this, focusing especially on leadership, team-building, inspiration and empathy.

Course director Achim Holub has a world-wide reputation for their inspirational teaching. They are each internationally respected conductors in their own right, and will be joined by members of the Orion Symphony Orchestra, acclaimed as one of the UK's most exciting new orchestras.
