Tamás Gyurcsó

Born Hungary, I started my musical education at the age of 5. Today, I play the saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano.
I started studying and specialising in jazz in Budapest, where I spent five years playing alongside some of the best Hungarian musicians and groups, from trios to sextet formations.
In 2010 I moved to Italy, and carried on my studies, obtaining at masters in Jazz Saxophone at the prestigious Conservatory of Music G. Verdi of Milan. There, I had the honour of playing with internationally renowned musicians like Corcoran Holt, Uri Cane and Paolo Fresu, among others.
I moved to London a year ago, where I build my musical and teaching career. You’ll be sure to spot me in any jazz club around the city!

 

Where did you study music? I studied music in Budapest, Trento, and Milan.
What is your favourite piece of music / song? My favourite piece of music is John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme”
What single thing could you not live without? My instruments and my music.
Who has inspired you the most? John Coltrane and my teacher, Robert Bonisolo.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in a small town called Szerencs in the north-east part of Hungary.
