Mary Anne Barclay / Tutor

Mary Anne went to school in Thetford, playing the harp in the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, before reading Music at St Peter’s College, Oxford. She went on to train as a music therapist at the Guildhall School of Music and now works with children and adults of all ages using music to develop health and communication. She also works at Sheffield Music Academy as teacher of harp and music theory.

Alongside music Mary Anne is training as a psychotherapist at the Tavistock Centre in London. 

She loves teaching all varieties of harp music; there really is something for everyone! 


Where did you study music?

I studied at Oxford University and the Guildhall School of Music 


What is your favourite piece of music/song?

Today it’s Purcell’s ‘Hear my Prayer’.


What single thing could you not live without?

Humour

I grew up on the Norfolk/Suffolk border
