Bach’s Invention: The Divine Trickery of JS Bach

Milton Mermikides is a composer, guitarist, scholar and educator in a wide range of musical and interdisciplinary fields. Milton has given public lectures, keynote presentations and his music exhibited internationally including at TEDx, Royal Physiological Society, Royal Musical Association, British Library, Smithsonian Institute, Royal Society of Medicine, Science Museum, Loop Berlin, Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts and The Design Museum. His work has been featured on New Scientist, BBC Radio 4 Inside Science and Midweek, the Lauren Laverne Show, The Guardian, Times Higher Education and is published by Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Bloomsbury, Routledge, Deutsche Grammaphon, and Sony. Milton is Associate Professor in Music at the University of Surrey, Professor of Jazz Guitar at the Royal College of Music, and in 2023 was appointed the 37th Gresham Professor of Music, a historic post established in 1597 providing free public lectures to a diverse audience.
