Born in South Wales, Isabelle began learning the flute in primary school and discovered her passion for music through orchestral playing. She graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2022 where she won the Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize, a prestigious bi-annual competition open to all musicians at the college. Isabelle is currently a scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a student of the Orchestral Artistry postgraduate, where she studies with Ian Clarke, Philippa Davies, Gareth Davies, and Christopher Green. The course offers opportunities to work closely with the London Symphony Orchestra, playing in rehearsals, lunchtime concerts, and facilitating projects with LSO Discovery.
Isabelle was invited to perform Kaaija Saariaho’s ‘Changing Light’ on BBC Radio 3 for the 2023 BBC Total Immersion project. She was also invited to participate in the Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander in Spain; a month-long music festival consisting of solo recitals and chamber music concerts with world-class professors and selected students from institutions across Europe. She has received awards from the British Flute Society and, with her ensemble, the Oneira Trio, the McGrenery Chamber Music prize.
