Joan Furió Vivas has performed as soloist and chamber musician across Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Leichtenstein, Portugal, Germany and France, in prestigious venues such as the Milton Court Concert Hall, the Chapel of

the Manchester Harris College in Oxford, the Eduard Toldrà Audi tor ium at Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, the Valencia’s Oceanografic or The Bitter End in New York City. He recorded his first album, Acordándonos, with mezzo-soprano Sofia Llovet, and has performed with chamber music ensembles such as Orquestra Jove de la Selva and Ensemble de Guitarres Ad Líbitum BCN. He has upcoming concerts in London and Barcelona.

He has been invited to participate in festivals such as the Liechtensteiner Gitarrentage LiGiTa, Koblenz International Guitar Festival & Academy and Festival de Guitarra Ciutat d’Elx or Forum Guitare Wien, where he has attended masterclasses by internationally renowned guitarists as Álvaro Pierri, David Russell, Roland Dyens, Manuel Barrueco, Sergio Assad, Pablo Márquez, Leo Brouwer, Jérémy Jouve, Marta Masters, Carles Trepat, Àlex Garrobé, Peter Maklar, Matteo Mela, Stefan Hackl, Gaëlle Solal, Brigitte Zaczek, Hubert Käppel, Laurent Blanquart, José Antonio Escobar, Romilio Orellana, Walter Würdinger, Michael Buchrainer, Anders Miolin, Susana Prieto and Marco Socías.

Joan holds a First Class Bachelor of Music from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he is presently completing his Master of Performance in Advanced Instrumental Studies with professor Robert Brightmore. He studied for a Professional Degree of Music at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona with professor Joan Furió Navarro, receiving the Honours Soloist and Chamber music Awards.

He received scholarships from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Fundació Pedro y Pons, and the Spanish Society of Performers Artists to support his studies in London, and was awarded a Eurostrings scholarship.

Since 2019, Joan is the organiser and artistic director of the international Villa Margarita Music Fest in Spain, now supported by a broad range of public and private partners.

Committed to the promotion of music in society, he is also a dedicated pedagogue. Joan is the former conductor of the guitar ensemble in the Orquestra Jove de la Selva, has been giving private guitar lessons since 2015 and is presently professor of guitar at a music school in London.
